on this course.
Below are details of the other
training courses we offer:
1) Assisting Disabled
Customers:
DP Consulting has devised a case study
approach to explore practical applications of the law.
Delegates will explore a range of dilemmas that disabled
people and staff dealing with customers are faced with. This
course is framed by legal requirement, but will focus on
best practice throughout your organisation. Delegates will
therefore have an opportunity to include disability issues
as part of general good customer care principles.
2) More
than Access - Including Disabled People:
DP Consulting is pleased to offer this opportunity for
managers and team leaders to consider the overall impact of
legal requirements on policy and practice in service
provision. Disability is the loss of opportunity to
participate in valued everyday activity. Access issues can
only be fully tackled in evolving services when frontline
staff identify barriers which stop disabled people from
making the most of the service or facilities and managers
support their teams in removing such barriers Traditionally
access has been equated with physical barriers, but this
course explores how a range of barriers are identified. DP
Consulting has devised a case study approach to explore
practical applications of the law. Our focus is on best
practice throughout your organisation.
3) How to Avoid Bad Publicity:
Debenhams was the first retailer to be
sued under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) for
failing to improve physical access to goods and services
within its Derby store. In a light-hearted manner this
course introduces delegates to the pitfalls of opening your
doors to disabled people. The broad meaning of access is
explored and many practical examples illustrate the
application of disability legislation.
4) Disability Empowerment
Training:
This training is based on disability
equality training. Disabled people do not generally
understand about disability, and indeed equal opportunities.
It is about treating other disabled people on an equal
level. Training uses the Social Model of Disability which
places disability squarely in society rather than trying to
fix the individual. This training is geared specifically to
groups of disabled people, and it is imperative that any
access requirements are met.
These are the standard formats for our
Disability Equality Training however as a company we strive
